MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The Shelby County District Attorney's Office has shut down 'The Smoke Shop' on Sycamore View in northeast Memphis.

The DA's office filed a public nuisance petition against the shop; investigators say illegal drugs were being sold at the business in the form of bath salts and synthetic cocaine. Cops say all you had to do to get them was walk right in and ask.

This investigation started a year ago. Agents with the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force say they bought illegal drugs multiple times at The Smoke Shop.

A search warrant carried out a week ago yielded over 730 packets of drugs packed up and ready to go.

The owner of the business, Cameron Macrum, is scheduled to appear in court on March 12.

"THE INVESTIGATION STARTED A YEAR AGO" - if it is so evil and dangerous that these items are for sale, and the government is supposed to 'serve and protect', why did they take so long to shut it down? End the stupid, evil, racist, destructive, ineffective 'war on drugs' ( a war on mostly peaceful people ) now. Even the drug warriors admit it is destructive and wasteful - visit www.leap.cc
