South Memphis Shooting Leaves 2 Dead

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A shooting in South Memphis on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, around 5:45 p.m. has left two men dead and police looking for answers.

Memphis police say after responding to a shooting call, they found 34-year-old Devon Monger shot to death inside a car in the 1100 block of Greenwood Street.

They found another man, who has not yet been identified, lying in a vacant lot near the car. When ambulances arrived on the scene, both men were pronounced dead. The cause of death has not been determined for the second victim.

Police are asking anyone with information in this murder to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.

THEY NEED TO LEVEL THAT PART OF TOWN, ITS NOTHING BUT A BREEDING GROUNG FOR CRIMINALS, DRUG ACTIVITY, GANGS YOU NAME. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE FAMILIES THAT CAN'T AFFORD TO MOVE ELSEWHERE TO RAISE THEIR CHILDREN IN A DECENT ENVIRONMENT.
