The state needs to check into crooked dealings for the entire length of time he has had access to the public cookie jar. This kind of behavior didn't accidentally happen overnight. As far as the Board, did they never check into what kind of salary and perks would be reasonable for a town the size of Southaven? Maybe something like a third to a half of what the mayor of JACKSON was being paid?? Maybe less than what the GOVERNOR was being paid??

This is the most ridiculous situation I have ever seen. If he was taking $35,000 illegally, then he has committed a felony. I can see why the Board of Alderman WILL NOT reduce Greg Davis' salary. That would be admitting that they are guilty of ignoring his actions. As far as the mayor's $62,000 balance, maybe his good friends in Southaven will start another fund to bail him out. After all, The Board of Alderman will not vote to take it out of his $148,000 annual salary! That would be too much like right.
