Southaven, MS (abc24.com) - The Southaven Board of Alderman met behind closed doors for more than 2 hours Tuesday night, as they continue to scrutinize around $44,000 in receipts sent to them by the Mississippi State Auditor's Office.
The Auditor's office sent the alderman the receipts recently, as it continues to look into some $170,000 in questionable spending involving Mayor Davis.
The board went into executive session as they reviewed the receipts, emerging just before 9 p.m.
Greg Guy, Alderman at Large, then told the crowd the aldermen would not be making a public comment because of the ongoing civil and criminal investigations involving the mayor.
The Auditor's Office confirmed it recently received a payment of $96,000.
