Looks like they need to fix rules before the next election so they can recall, fire or do whatever it takes to get rid of the next elected mayor if the taxpayers are not satisfied with his performance. This mayor should have been fired but he is just biding his time so get more money from the taxpayers.

Unfortunately for citizens of Southaven, their election is not till 2013, so Davis has at least another year in office. I'm from Memphis, so I don't know what month the election is, but I do know it's in 2013. If Davis is removed from office now (if he is arrested by FBI or other law enforcement & jailed), he loses his pension, not because of the arrest, but because he will be months short of the time he has to serve to get full pension. He is doing everything he can (delay tactics, lawsuits) to prevent going to court now on anything he cheated Southaven out of, because he has to finish his term of office (or come close to it) to get his full pension. Not being a Southaven citizen, I don't know how many years he has been in office, or how many months he lacks to get full pension, but he is doing his darnedest to stay in office till end of his term.

Making that kind of money, he should have a hefty amount put away for a rainy day, so take his entire pay check until the balance is paid. If elections are in Nov., he'll be out of debt to Southaven- & probably not be elected. He can relocate to a Lifestyle Friendly City, and start over.

Employers garnish wages every day. The money owed is taken from the employee's paycheck. That employee doesn't hire an attorney to try and stop the garmishment. This is money that is owed the City of Southaven. Why should Greg Davis be any different? Why shouldn't his wages be garnished! I can't feel sorry for someone whose take home pay is $3,700 a week! Isn't he just a little bit self indulgent? There are citiens of Southaven who are making minimum wage and can barely afford to feed their families. Oh, I just can't wait until election day!
