The real story here, that I wish I knew, would be who Greg Davis pissed off to make all of this come to light. I honestly think that this is all just standard politics, and these people are ALL corrupt. All this dirt on Davis happened years ago. Obviously, he didn't "play ball" with someone, or maybe "played w/balls" with the wrong someone, and the powers behind the scenes decided to throw him to the sharks. Where there's smoke, there's fire and these stories make it obvious that the whole lot of them are deeply involved in shady business.

First off, what did Davis do to "earn" more money than the MS Governor? Creating business growth is one thing but come on - this is ridiculous. The population growth was organic from Memphis' woes. And what's with a $5,000 annual stipend for "education"? Who needs to spend that much on annual self-improvement via education? Are there annual mayoring courses? I think not. This board has had their heads too far up Davis' a$$ for too long. Davis will clearly go, if not now, at the next election. The playground board needs to all be cleaned out too. This group is the "checks and balances" for thieving mayors. First order of business is to clean up Davis' extra pay sources. Second order of business is to knock his salary down to $70K per year, in line with other small towns. Third order of business is to revamp the financial approval process. Fourth order of business is for the board to resign in shame.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. It appears that the Southaven Board of Alderman have had their heads in the sand for a long time. Where is the accountability? Maybe their tax returns need to be looked at also.

And many of those mocking Memphis problems were Southaven residents who just knew their good-ole-boy, fiscally conservative, family values Republican mayor was above and beyond any such actions.

Was'nt long ago that all tongues were wagging about the shenanigans going on in the political arena in Memphis...people enriching themselves at the public trough, along with allegations of perceived misconduct of the personal nature. Must be an infection inherent in politics.

A man with any pride and self-respect would resign.
