SOUTHAVEN, MS (abc24.com) - Frustration grows in Southaven as citizens wonder how many scandals Mayor Greg Davis can weather.

"I think he's pushing his luck," said Cindy Asquino, a Southaven resident. "It is not his personal lifestyle I'm talking about, it is his arrogance about the whole thing."

The fact is, it is hard to recall an elected official in Mississippi. There is currently no way to recall an elected official. If convicted of a felony, an elected official would be forced to resign, but that hasn't happened in this case.

That doesn't mean there hasn't been an effort to force him out.

In early January, the Board of Aldermen voted to ask him to resign. Residents have packed meetings calling on him to resign as well.

"It should be quite interesting, and why not a little excitement in the neighborhood," said Cary Doehring.

Davis remains under civil and criminal investigation related to his use of city-issued credit cards.

I agree cop mom. They are all guilty in one way or another and should all be replaced.

What's sad is the stupid stories we're seeing about Davis. He passed a school bus, big freakin deal. The real issue with Davis is that he is gay and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be gay in Mississippi.

It is really sad when the Southaven Board of Alderman does not even know that the Mayor STILL has blue lights on his personal car. It is really embarrassing and only proves that the Board is cluelsss. Not only do we have a fraud and a thief for a Mayor who thinks he is above the law, but we have incompentent Board of Alderman members. I can't wait until election time......
