@genx29....Name-calling is not warranted, what on Earth gives you the impression of my comments being "racist"? I'm pretty sure you would be whistling a different tune if you were on my patient list! BTW, how many tattooes do you sport?

frayserboi is just a racist prik...if he gets paid over the median then he definitely needs a paycut to go along with his IQ.

@Fedupmemphian - What exactly is the source of your frustration? The truth is, and most educated individuals understand this; that the majority of those over-paid hose handlers & cocaine cowboys are usually unemployable in the private sector....i.e, they don't know how to do anything else. As for my employment, it is irrelevant to the topic at hand, but my level of compensation is well above the median, I assure you; (medical, non-government).

@Frayserboi - Just curious - Are you employed ? If so, and your employer 'temporarily' cut your wages & benefits, then decided that it wasn't going to be temporary, would you be upset ? The city claims to have no money, yet approves $2 million dollars to renovate the Chisca as well as other outlandish & unnecessary items. Of course their excuse is that it's "from a different budget". Do you have any clue how many Memphians have lost adequate fire & police coverage and they don't even know it? I'm sure it won't take long - once insurance companies see the response times declining due to lack of equipment and personnel, the insurance rates will go higher and people will demand answers. There are a lot of people who need jobs, but most aren't willing to put their lives on the line daily to protect others. Heck even the police & fire departments have employees of their own who aren't brave enough to do it. If the ones who actually work hard & do their job search the want ads and leave, Lord help us all. One can only hope that you live in a district where the rookies & not so brave are assigned. I would love to hear you screaming like a little girl while calling 911 when your house is on fire or someone robs you at gun point. You seem to direct a lot of your negative comments on the police & fire departments. Are you a fired disgruntled city employee too?

If they are unhappy with the pay & benefits they need to hit the bricks.....after all, The Commercial Appeal has classified ads every day for employment opportunities!

@EXC0P - Really? I find it difficult to believe that you have ever been part of any law enforcement agency. If you ever were, I have no doubt that you were dismissed of your duties for lack of character, work ethic or desire to do your job. You are apparantly a disgruntled previous employee who doesn't have a clue.
