WEST MEMPHIS, AR (abc24.com) - The fall out continues over claims of voter fraud in Crittenden County.

The Arkansas State Police launched an investigation into last year’s democratic primary election.

Both election officials and voters testified in court on February 7, 2012. A special prosecutor will decide if the case will move forward.

It's only a matter of time before Hudson Hallum finds out if he'll face criminal charges for voting irregularities during a Democratic Primary.

“They was hustling votes,” said voter Macy Johnson.

Johnson and several others claim their absentee ballots were forged and submitted for Hallum.

He barely won the run-off against Kim Felker, but dominated the absentee vote count. We asked him about it last summer.

Hallum: As far as what they're doing we don't know. Out on the ground, I'm not out there with them.
Wimbley: But since you don't know, there's a possibility the people working on your campaign may actually have committed voter fraud.
Hallum: Well I can't say one way or another what anybody is doing when I'm not there with them so I wouldn't want to say whether they did something like that or not.

On Feb. 8, our phone calls and emails to Hallum went unanswered.

Felker said she hopes the investigation leads to fair elections in Crittenden County.

Special Prosecutor H.G. Foster said that's exactly what's at stake.

“It damages the voter confidence and that results in fewer voters which results in fewer people participating in deciding who our government is going to be,” Foster said.

The charges could land Hallum in hot water and give him a one way ticket out of the Arkansas State House.

“In any election fraud case where charges are filed there is a possibility that the target of the investigation could be removed from office,” Foster said.

The call to press charges won't come until Arkansas State Police finishes its investigation. No word on how soon that will happen.
