Support Grows for Shelby County Sales Tax Increase

Local leaders say a proposed half cent sales tax would generate $60 million for Shelby County. The plan is for half of that revenue to go to the new Shelby County unified school system.

If this is for the whole county, why are they preventing municipalities from being allowed to vote on the county wide tax.

If you care about the kids? Privatize the schools and get rid of the Teacher's Union. This tax will only go toward pensions. Remember the temporary wheel Tax only to be used for education? Don't get suckerd again.
