MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Police arrested a suspect in a Christmas Eve drug deal where the alleged dealer was killed.

24-year-old Robin Bass is charged with Second Degree Murder for the death of Gus Crittle. Investigators state Crittle's body was found in the parking lot of a Cordova apartment complex around 8:20pm on Christmas Eve.

Police determined that Crittle had arranged to sell drugs to someone and mentioned to a friend he was visiting that he was uneasy about the transaction. Crittle received a phone call, then said he had to leave to complete the deal; he was found dead a short time later. Crittle's phone records led investigators to Bass.

Bass was apprehended, and admitted to police that he "shorted" Crittle in the drug deal but did not kill him.

Robin Bass is being held on $2 million bond at the Shelby County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Jan. 24th.
