MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The suspect in a fatal weekend shooting is behind bars after he called police and turned himself in.
Memphis police were called to The MED after a gunshot victim was brought in by a private vehicle around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 22. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Cornelius Wilson, died a short time later.
According to the affidavit, MPD communications received a call from someone saying he had just shot someone at Looney Ave and N Dunlap St. Officers went to the suspect's location near the scene of the shooting and took him into custody without incident.
Investigators say the suspect, 19-year-old Jermaine Clark, admitted to shooting the victim during a physical altercation. Clark was charged with Voluntary Manslaughter and booked at the Shelby County Jail on $150,000.
