ARLINGTON, TN (abc24.com) - A man asking to use the restroom turned out to be stealing from two Arlington businesses, and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office needs help identifying the suspect.

The suspect walked in to Primary Eye Care on the 6000-block of Airline Road on May 21 and browsed the store. He tried to walk back to the patient area, but was stopped by an employee. He left and went to a nearby medical clinic, where he told the receptionist he was waiting on a family member to arrive. He asked to use their restroom, and left a short time later.

The suspect then walked over to a nearby chiropractic clinic, asked to use the bathroom, and left. A patient used the restroom after the suspect and reported a problem with the toilet. A manager pulled the lid off the tank and found a wallet belonging to an employee at the medical clinic.

By then the suspect had walked over another nearby business and stolen a laptop computer and another wallet. Employees didn't notice the theft until deputies arrived at the neighboring businesses.
