LAMAR, MS (abc24.com) - All five suspects are now in custody for a home invasion in Marshall County, Mississippi. They are accused of throwing gas on four people, including a three month old baby, a toddler and a six year old, all to steal a flat screen TV.
The mother they're accused of attacking Wednesday night wants them to stay off the streets and away from her family.
Galisa Franklin was holding her baby when she was doused with gasoline. "This one was in my arms and this one was asleep when he came in and threw the gasoline."
She answered a knock on the door from a man posing as a family member. He and two others forced their way inside, splashing gas on everyone and yelling for them to get down.
Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson says, "They were cursing the victims in the house as well as the children."
One-year-old Jayden and baby Jeremiah are too young to understand what happened. Franklin and her little sister can't forget.
"She's six and she's jumping in her sleep and saying 'I can't sleep by myself,' she's scared to stay by herself even when the lights are on and it's daytime," Franklin says. "My sister kept telling me 'I thought they were going to kill us, I thought they were going to kill us.'"
Instead, one attacker tripped and fell on his way out with Franklin's TV.
"It was too heavy for him. He got right here on the staircase and he fell with it, all I heard was him say 'Ow' and they took off."
Two women in the getaway car were arrested, Shantel Fitzpatrick and Qwanesha Rhine. Franklin was friends with Rhine, and she believes that's why her family was targeted.
"I don't know them, I just know Qwanesha," Franklin says, "I'm looking at her like, 'Why would you do this? Why would you set me up knowing I've got two kids and my little sister?"
Cedric McNeil and Martin Mitchell, both 21, as well as McNeil's 17-year-old cousin were apprehended in Memphis. They face charges of attempted arson, home invasion and aggravated assault.
The two women have been charged with burglary and robbery.
