Memphis is broke, but that isn't stopping those in charge from letting big money slip away. No one is pushing to collect the more than a million dollars owed for extra police patrols at special events.

Frayserrboi- those police/fire personnel are not "on the clock" for those special events. those are extra details that do not typically utilize manpower from the dept's regular shifts. those officers & firefighters are working these events in addition to their regular shifts

Well, I disagree......I get so sick of hearing how much the police/fire/etc. cost for special events; the fact is, they are on the clock anyway, no extra charges are incurred.....in the words of Homer Simpson....D'oh....... now, if they are paying overtime for extra protection that is a different kettle of fish & should not be happening.....common sense, Please......You're Welcome, - -Frayser Boy........

Good job for finding this out, and now will Councilman Ford jr give up his rediculus scheme of trying to force anyone that comes into Memphis more than two days a week since they know where the money is at to correct the budget shortfall?
