In a prison for profit nation (like the US is) this kind of thing is par for the course. Look up Corrections Corporation of America and think about how many more like this happen in the name of meeting the CCA requirement that states keep prisons 90% full.

So a HORRIBLE injustice has been inflicted upon this man by the Mississippi legal system and the paper DOESN'T name the lawyer who defended him to protect others from the same fate? My guess is the hack threatened to sue the paper for slander and the news paper caved. I've said it before, being a lawyer is one of the few professions where you don't have to be good to be successful.
