What about the fact that we have someone making these decisions about cuts that has not been an "active" fire person? They will probably make the cuts and they will stay in place until the home of one of our "esteemed" city leaders catches fire and it takes too long for fire to respond or until someone dies because they did not have the equipment needed to save that person. Maybe then they will leave our fire department alone!!!!!!

Has anyone thought about selecting a few stations throughout the City, both busy and not as busy stations, say the 7's and the 59's, and do a "trial run" to see if it is even going to work? Perhaps chart and graph the times, including the unit calls to see if what looks good on paper can even become a reality?

Stop with the scare tactics. Maybe we should privatize the fire department. There are "national standards" for response time? How ridiculous. Maybe they are intentionally taking their time getting to fires, kinda like the cop ticket-writing thing. I'll bet most areas in this country don't have anywhere near a six-minute response time and they seem to be doing fine.
