AC Wharton never has any new ideas. Raising taxes on working people and property ownsers is his only solution to justa bout every problem. His administration is bcoming a joke. Sure he's better than Herenton, but just about ANYBODY would be. This city needs leadership desperately.

Our sales tax is already one of the highest in the country, even tho our elected officials continue to cut services (i.e. police, fire, etc.) I guess we are supposed to over look this again & vote these officials back in office. Pitiful!! Of course, we'd rather go to MS.

what kind of idiots continually get voted into office. These fools obviously dont want honest hardworking people living in thier city. Fine Im breaking my lease and moving out of that ill run city. These elected officials dont care in the least bit about any of the citizens working hard to try and make a life for thier children. All they do is tajke take take from us and im god blessed sick of it. I wont spend one dime in memphis as i move and wont step foot in that sorry excuse for a city unless it is absolutely unavoidable. Thanks AC and company hey while your at the next meeting how bout a tax to breath or better yet a tax just for people with jobs since you obviously hate us and want to hurt us at every turn. Another cute trick TN has is if you pay for anything in MS with a credit card or check you still pay TN taxes. That is why they are raising taxes AGAIN!!!

First, let me state that as a Southaven resident, I absolutely despise seeing all the Shelby County tags around Southaven, clogging up the streets around Goodman, the restaurants, Walmart, and all the other shopping centers. I can't stand that it draws the criminal element from Memphis down to DeSoto. I balance that with the fact that these fools are keeping my taxes low by the volume of tax revenue they provide to the county. Add to that the police in this area do their job well and Mississippi is far more stringent on crime than TN so when they do get caught, they actually go to jail instead of being given a bail of $200 like Memphis where crime is encouraged by the judicial system. Bitter? Just a bit. I moved to Southaven to get away from all the bad things about Memphis. Yeah, I know all the Memphis lovers are gonna call me a hater and tell me to move. That's fine. You have your opinion, I have mine. Come on down anytime and help keep my taxes low.
