The entire thing is a schill started by Willie Herenton and you can bet there is money to be made in it. It is bad enough that the City of Memphis can't run itself and drives the school system off the cliff, leaving its children in the ditch, now it wants to tear apart the county system and interfere with the municipalities that are making a sincere effort on behalf of their children. I am sure the teacher's are in a wad over it. Those city teachers with tenure that can barely speak proper English and have failed to educate its children will now be moved into the new system, forcing out better qualified, better educated and better all round teachers without tenure. So I don't know why the union is all upset since they are the ones that insure the tenure for these deadbeat teachers. Give us the best qualified, best educated teachers that chose the profession as a calling, not a part-time job. If you want to find the reasoning for all the bru-ha-ha...follow the money.

The teachers unions have had way too much to say about how much money is to be stolen from me under penalty of imprisonment to fatten their salaries, pensions, and benefits. If they don't like this new austerity, let them quit the damned jobs.
