MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis teen is behind bars, charged with shooting at a vehicle in the Frayser area on Christmas Eve and injuring two people.
Memphis Police were called to Methodist North just before midnight when two 22-year-old male gunshot victims arrived at the hospital. One victim was in non-critical condition and has since been released. The second victim arrived in extremely critical condition and was transferred to The MED, where he is currently in critical condition.
Investigators stated that the victims were in a Ford Taurus near Egypt Central Rd and Ridgemont Ave when a black Yukon with several people inside pulled up. Shots were fired from the Yukon, hitting the two victims. A third person was also in the vehicle, but was not injured. Officers determined that the shooting probably stemmed from an earlier altercation between the suspects and the victims.
19-year-old Keyon Hester was identified as the shooter, and arrested on charges of attempted second degree murder and employment of a firearm. He is being held at the Shelby County Jail on $500,000 bond.
