MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A jury has found a Cordova teen guilty of sexually assaulting a two-year-old family member.
The jury deliberated six hours before finding 17-year-old James Prindle guilty of Aggravated Sexual Battery, Aggravated Child Abuse, Aggravated Child Neglect and False Reporting. The attack occurred at their Cordova Creek apartment on August 16, 2010.
He and two other teens first told Memphis police an intruder raped the child. Police also arrested two brothers, then 11 and 13-year-old, for the crime. Charges were dropped against the youngest. The older brother pleaded guilty in juvenile court and is free after serving his sentence. Although Prindle was 15 at the time, he was charged as an adult.
Prindle faces a minimum of 25 to 60 years behind bars; sentencing has not yet been set.
