Teen Killed in Orange Mound Shooting

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police are investigating a shooting in the Orange Mound area Sunday night that left a young man dead.

Officers responded to a shooting at David Street and Deadrick Avenue around 9:45 p.m. on April 1. When they arrived on the scene, they found an 18-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

Investigators later identified the victim as 18-year-old LaFonso Patton.

So far no suspects are in custody. Anyone with information on this homicide should call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).

I am so sick and tired of this crap. If they want to shot at each other go to a vacant lot and shot it out. Stop bring my home value down. I am sick and tired when my children just go to the store I hear a gunshots I call to make sure they are ok. I understand White Memphian why you chose who you want for your neighbors. I 100% agree with you. I am a black Memphian. I wish so many times that I waited to purchase my home. It is so sad. I am so ready to leave this city. But I am in debt with my home that is value half what I paid for it.
