Let them do their jobs, THUGS don't play by the rules, they could care less. Like one said their trained to use what FORCE deemed necessary. They all have families and like most of us our goal at the end of the day is to go home to our families in one peace.

The men and women of the MPD work in the 2nd most violent city in the U.S. To those men and women, whatever you need to do to get the job done and be safe, I am 100% behind you. It would be really nice if the news stations in this city ran positive stories about its police officers and fire fighters.

Each time the public attacks the police for using force, a lot of police get more discouraged and you run the risk of them not checking people they know they should be checking just to avoid the public scrutiny. These men and women are trained to use force and it will be investigated if it is deemed too much, but every suspect who has force used against him thinks it is too much. They can shoot a store clerk, run from the police, resist arrest and fight officers and if they get so much as sprayed, they complain. If you do not want an aggressive police force then dont keep wondering why you live in a city that is constantly in the top 5 in the country for violent crime. Why is it this town always likes to pamper the bad guys and scold the good guys? Police dont make enough money in this town that seems to attack them from the city hall on down. They constantly subjected to frivolous lawsuits, getting beat up or killed at work, getting threatened and cursed out constantly, and horrendous scenes of violence and gore, and then the public monday moring quarterbacks how the murder suspect was apprehended. I can see how some cops get depressed and quit to do other jobs. Back to the morale of this story, believe or not, some bad guys dont want to go to jail but someone has to do something to put them there.

Thank you MPD for all your hard work and many hours in putting up w/ criminals who wish to do harm to law abiding citizens. The solution is simple. MPD has to do whats best to protect their lives and others. What are they supposed to do? Tell the suspect to please comply or you'll be put in a timeout? No, don't act a fool and force won't have to be used, or better yet, don't committ crimes.

In the end it's all about getting the job done. You could paint the dining room by sitting a 5 gallon bucket of paint in the middle and tossing in a hand greanade. But it wouldn't be right.
