Lady, are you saying that welfare, medicare, foodstamps, etc were "created" for black and brown people? Are you serious? Let me give you a history lesson: During the great depression, the New Deal policies of President franklin d. roosevelt included new federal initiatives to help those in poverty (Many were single white mothers whose husbands had abandoned them to look for work, most never returned). With millions of people unemployed during the 1930s economic depression, welfare assistance was beyond the financial resources of the states. Therefore, the federal government provided funds either directly to recipients or to the states for maintaining a minimum standard of living...Mind you, this was the 1930s, a time when you and I know that nonwhites did not have an opportunity to obtain these subsidies. Nonwhites were not able to participate in these programs until the 1960s!!! so my dear, please read some history because your ignorance is showing...and btw, I am retired Navy vet of 23 years and I appreciate your husbands service!

Allimsaying, I do hope we find out for certain about the circumstances surrounding he young man's death. I imagine in the afermath of Officer Lang's tragic deah, officers are more on edge. As for the setting, that could explain a lot. A home has numerous rooms and places for individuals to hide. They did not know what they were walking into. In a car, there is far more visibility. I am not saying the yonug man's death was justifiable, only that the setting for each incident is different. As for the asinine comment about police and military being trained to shoot "brown and black people," could you be any more insulting to the individuals that fight for your freedom?!? My husband is "brown" and served you and helped ensure you are still a free individual, so check yourself. It is one thing to question a situation that seems suspect. It is another to stereotype officers and military members in the most disgusting way. Funny how you're complaning that "black and brown people" are stereotyped by these servants when you so sickningly stereotype them.

It is amazing that a THREE MEN can open fire at police officers and live to tell the story..but the young man who was gunned down by police last week while sleeping in his car was killed on scene for allegedly "pointing a gun at officers"....hmmm, what could be the difference in these cases????? POLICE AND MILITARY, NO MATTER WHAT RACE ARE TRAINED TO SHOOT BROWN AND BLACK PEOPLE..POLICE AND MILITARY ARE TRAINED TO SEE BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE AS PROBLEMS THAT NEED TO BE EXTERMINATED... This makes me sick...
