¬MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Three gang members were arrested by Shelby County Sheriff's deputies for opening fire at a neighborhood park and injuring one person.
The shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 at Goodman Park in the Northaven area. Witnesses told deputies that several men were playing basketball at the park when a man drove a gold sedan onto the middle of the court, pulled out a shotgun from the trunk and began firing.
People scattered and one person was shot in the ankle. The 22-year-old male victim was taken to The MED in stable condition.
Investigators later arrested 24-year-old Jerome Parks, 19-year-old Christopher Bryant and a 16-year-old male for the shooting, all known gang members. They were charged with Aggravated Assault.
