The true and honest correctional effort should focus on bad parenting, not dealing with its consequences. Until we stop look away practice and found institutional means to address this major issue, we will always have crime in this, or any other towns in US. Serial murderers, child molesters and pedophiles were all born normal human beings. It is malnourishment of care, love and parental involvement that scar the hearts and make them wicked. Every child is born naked and free of our misconceptions, it is our culture and its un-involvement into such domestic issues (oh yea, let’s all scream “Privacy!”) that brings out such unaccomplished human beings; we brew and perpetuate this syndrome to the point of turning it into a cultural standard. Hear me out law makers and legislators! You fight this war in front lines, but the true strategists go for the enemy’s command center. How can you do it? Through sanctioning new social systems that can non-invasively impact an individual on societal and personal levels. Our culture is in dire need for spiritual maturity and common kindness, religious dogmas no longer appeal to smart but misdirected generation. The more we, as a society, can promote such values through allowing centers for spiritual healing and freedom to take a prominent place in our culture, the better impact we can make in the lives of those who come to take our place and walk into the future.
