MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police arrested a tow truck driver after they found a stolen car on his wrecker while he was trying to tow another vehicle.
Officers were called to Madison Towers at Madison Ave and Danny Thomas Blvd around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, January 12. Police spoke with the owner of a 1989 Toyota Camry and Justin Irvin, the driver of the tow truck on the scene, who was trying to take the vehicle for scrap. Police also say a vehicle that had been reported stolen was already loaded on the wrecker.
Officers verified Irvin was an employee at Memphis Towing & Recovery; however, he did not have any paperwork regarding the removal of either vehicle.
Irvin, 27, was arrested and charged with Theft of Property $1,000- $10,000 to wit Auto. He may face additional charges as the investigation continues.
