MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Two people were injured when a tractor trailer crashed into a gas station building in Arlington on November 23, 2011.

The accident occurred on the 5000-block of Airline Road off exit 25 of I-40 around 10:30am. According to reports at the scene, the driver of the truck lost control, veered towards the gas station, and hit a red BMW in the parking lot before the tractor trailer came to a stop inside the building. The truck, owned by Swift Transportation, Inc., narrowly missed hitting a gas pump.

The driver of the truck and his female passenger were both transported to The Med. Nobody at the gas station was injured.

Crews are working to extract the wreckage, and witnesses state that the building looks like it could collapse once the truck is pulled out. Traffic is closed in both directions on Airline Road and I-40 Exit 25 as the scene is cleared.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
