Trumann, AR -- Big city crime in small town Arkansas. Police in Trumann, about 50 miles northwest of Memphis are investigating a possible double homicide.

Investigators worked into the night on Sunday processing the crime scene inside a mobile home. Trumann Police Chief Chad Henson says the bodies of a man and a woman were found just before noon inside the mobile home on Viva Drive at Moon's Trailer Park.

"There is multiple injuries on the bodies, so right now we are trying to determine how they died and what way they died." Henson said. "Then we will try and develop a motive and a suspect."

On Sunday evening, agents with the State Police's Criminal Investigation Division could be seen entering and leaving the house.

"It is not very pretty." Henson said. "Right now we are processing the scene. The house looks like a tornado hit it."

Henson said neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 6:15 a.m. but thought someone was just dove hunting in the area.

The first sign of trouble didn't come until nearly five hours later when a maintenance worker of the mobile home park went to check on the residents and found the two dead.

"You hear about this going around but you don't expect it to be at your back door." said Diane Pankey, who lives behind the mobile home.

"Right now, we are looking at it, could very well be a double homicide." Henson said.

"As far as a suspect on the loose, we are trying to track down a suspect." he added.
