I just made a donation and got a hopeful update. He's gained a couple of pounds and is wagging his tail! So thankful the vet made a commitment to this little dog. I hope we hear soon that he has found a loving forever home.

draybrook, you probably never lifted a finger to help a person OR an animal. There is nothing hypocrital about any of these comments. The people who did nothing to help this starving injured dog are lower than animals themselves and deserve nothing but scorn. Your comment is nothing but pre crap. Grown people can help themselves. They can at least ask for help or go to a soup kithcen. They are not at the mercy of another species as dogs are.

pretty sad story, i could not have stood by to watch that, says a lot for the so called neighborhood. the difference between a starving pet and an unemployed starving homeless is this: many of the people are homeless and unemployed because that is their choice. many are alcoholics and drug addicts. i give to the Union Mission and most are what i just described, many are homeless because of choices. This dog cannot talk, work, take care of himself, the homeless people are usually not children, but adults. we all make choices, some are good and some are not, but we must live with the choices we make them.

What a bunch of hypocrites in here. How many of you drive right by people begging for change, or the many homeless that live in this region? I bet you don't even bat an eye as you pass them. And before anyone asks, I have a donation for homeless/needy women and children that comes out directly from my check.

I have nothing to say about the people in the neighborhood, I am appalled and sickened by their lack of compassion. I pray for this poor puppy. I pray he heals and gets into a loving home and is spoile to pieces for the rest of his life!! Thank you to all the volunteers that work so hard to care for and save the animals in our world!!

That whole ####### neighborhood should be napalmed into oblivion. None of those sorry SOB's who saw that starving dog and did nothing about it deserve to live.

This is an absolutely amazing organization supported fully by volunteers. You can sponsor a dog with a monthly donation. Go to https://www.facebook.com/#!/tunica.humanesociety for more details. These people do WONDERFUL work for God's creatures!

Only disgusting human beings would allow this to happen! You get back what you give...

They should add extra charges to the "owner" even if it is in jail. When they are arrested, they need to TELL the police if they own animals; The police could forward this information to the humane society, etc. Perhaps this would not have gone as far if they had. I hope the dog recovers, & hope the owner never reproduces.
