Solving the U of M football problems requires many things. While it's true there must be great fan support to make a program thrive, the University (and a few key supporters) have to first make a true committment to the program and hire the absolute best coach available - not a "coach-in-waiting" or a "project". If that effort is made and funded, I think the fan support will be there for a reasonable time.
