MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP, abc24.com) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says a Memphis man who was wanted for murder and placed on the state's top 10 most wanted list has been captured in Arkansas.
The agency says 32-year-old Ryan Shewan Nelson was arrested in the Little Rock area on Monday and booked into a jail, where he is awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
Nelson had been wanted by the Memphis Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service on first-degree murder and aggravated assault charges for a shooting this past September.
Authorities say Nelson fatally shot Dennis Gilliam in the head at the same residence where a fight had earlier taken place.
The TBI says its top 10 most wanted program has captured 282 fugitives since 1993.
