MARION, AR (abc24.com) - A West Memphis murder suspect is finally behind bars. Eddie Tribble was on the run for months, wanted for a shooting at a night club.

Working off a tip from CrimeStoppers, West Memphis police and U.S. Marshals arrested Tribble without incident at an apartment in Marion around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21.

He went into hiding after witnesses identified him as the gunman at The Good Lyfe Live nightclub in West Memphis, where Devario Smith was shot on May 6. Smith was taken to the Crittenden Regional Hospital where he later died.

West Memphis police say Tribble was lucky to avoid them for as long as he did.

"It goes back to the old saying you can run but you can't hide and eventually your luck will run out and law enforcement is going to get you," said Captain Ken Mitchell. "Sometimes it's a matter of hours, sometimes it takes years but it's going to happen and we see it all the time."

Eddie Tribble, 23, is being held at the Crittenden County Jail on a $3 million bond. He's charged with First Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and a Terroristic Act. Police say he's facing that last charge because he shot into an occupied building.
