Oh yes, Libertyfirst, bad ole government. There's another product of Republicans: kill government so that Wall Street Banks can be "free" and chemical companies (Koch Brothers et al.) can be rid of the EPA. This has been a Republican goal for years. Make government look like the culprit in order to be able to implement their so-called "less government" stance. You better believe that the end result only benefits those who rigged the game.

Another natural result of supply-side trickle-down economic policies by Republicans. Infrastructure crumbles and the gap between the rich and poor increases year by year. Memphis is number 4 nationwide in income disparity. People want safe roads and bridges but many don't want to pay for it. Greed is the word of the day. OWS has the right idea.

It is a mess down there. My question is how did it get that way? The same people will be in control of the same situation. Maintaining the area. Failure of leadership, and the people whose job it is to maintain.

Another example of how our elected officials have failed us. The people have just reelected the same people to office who have let them down in the past; I really don't get it. It shouldn't take people from out of town to tell us about condition in our town, we live here, and we should always be working toward making "ALL" of our areas better for the people in town and the people coming to town spending their money in our city. Some (most) of these things are no brainer's. The problem is we allow certain areas to just exist until the next crowd come to town, and hope they won't pay attention to our negligence throughout the year. There really needs to be an [Occupy Memphis Clean Up Effort] for our entire city. We need to insist our elected officials do something other than add Bike Lane's and work on Animal Problems; these are Human Needs and Problems, let's pay some attention to it for a change! (THE)

I am t a fan but it sadden me to see it. If I was I would not go near there because of the way it look. I use to live in the area ad I complain, but nothing ever happen. If they stop arguing over stupid stuff and start forcuing on making money and jobs for the city. I am a black female and this make me mad because this man has and does bring a lot of money for this city. And to treat him like this is appalling. I am glad the people who visit are complaining and letting them know we will stop spending money if things dont improve soon.
