The casinos used to be fun when it was still possible to win there and get some decent comps. Now, it's a hassle to even get a drink served, much less a free buffet. Slot machine payouts are at the bare minimum and they have replaced the best slots with deceptive, obnoxious video games. They call them penny slots but that nothing but a ruse. Greedy corporations have no common sense. They are driven by greed and little else. Customer satisfaction is secondary to that. Thus the current exodus of players from what used to be a fun place to go.

Perhaps the corruption legalized gambling brings is more costly than previously thought.

We used to go down a couple times a month and always go when they would send us promotions. Like one poster said, they have gotten cheap and I have gotten one promotion in the last year and it wasn't great. I notice they aren't getting any headliners that are worth much either. We just don't want to spend our hard earned money by giving it to the casinos. We are going on a cruise in two weeks and I doubt we play the casinos at all. I feel for the folks down there, but when times were good, they spent all the money instead of having it in reserve and now they are in trouble. Looks like they have stupid people running things down there like they do here in Memphis.

Tunica county used to be one of the poorest in the state. When the casinos care that was a windfall for them. How come running the county went from a shoe string budget to a budget of millions with pretty much a new highway and more police officers? Where is the money? Show me the money. A 30% property tax increase, Why sir I do blieve the feds need to be called in for a closer look.

Over the past 2-3 years the casino's got cheap with the promotion's/incentives which used to draw people down there to play, hell even getting a comp buffet has gotten harder this past year, and since almost all the contests and promotions end up paying in "promo-cash" it's simply not worth spending the little extra money people have with the economy being what it is. Not to mention there's absolutely nothing else down there to do, no movies, bowling etc, so its gambling or nothing.

Tunica , Should Have a money surplus. Not Debt Since the casinos came to Tunica. Tunica County recieved plenty of Money The funds have been , Misspent, Hi Salaries in goverment Etc........ Purchased and borrowed Beyond there Limit. ( Now the citizens have to suffer ) ( Maybe the FBI needs to investigate like in Memphis ) Bottom Line Tunica County Goverment . Should be the Have a money surplus From the money they recieve alone From casinos. Not including other taxes. Where is the real truth ( Steal from the citizens Legally )
