MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A domestic assault ended with two women shot, one of whom is now charged with attempted murder.
Shelby County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 1000-block of Cross Wood Lane in Cordova just before 11:30 p.m. on March 10. When they arrived, the victim told deputies she had asked her girlfriend to leave the house after a fight. As deputies were talking to the victim, she was shot several times by her girlfriend, 31-year-old Delissa Jordan, from the kitchen area. The deputies returned fire and Jordan retreated to the back of the home.
One deputy took the victim to safety while the other deputy ordered Jordan to drop her weapon. The suspect, who had been shot, complied with the deputy and was taken into custody.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds to her legs and arm; Jordan was shot in the thigh by deputies. Both were transported to The MED where they were last reported in stable condition. Neither responding deputy was injured; both have been placed on leave with pay pending the outcome of an administrative investigation.
Delissa Jordan has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder. She is being held on $500,000 bond at the Shelby County Jail. Her bond was initially set at $1 million, but was reduced following her court arraignment on March 12.
