MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - They say lightning never strikes twice. Not so in the case of a 10-year-old aspiring chef from Memphis, a young man who is really going places.
He is creative, has tons of personality and a load of talent, and he is indeed going places. In fact, little Logan Guleff is going all the way to the top: the White House.
“If it keeps going like this,” said Logan, “my resume will be bigger than Tennessee.”
Logan’s not kidding. Just a few months ago, when he was nine, Logan created the “Chomp Burger.”
It won him thousands of dollars, a trip to New York and a national television appearance.
“This time we’re making Tuna Quinoa Boats, or schooners,” Logan told abc24.com.
Not just any schooners.
This time Logan won a White House sponsored healthy eating contest and he is headed to
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
“We’re going for the first-ever kids state dinner,” Logan explained.
He and other state winners will dine with First Lady Michelle Obama.
“It is way beyond cool,” Logan told abc24.com, “really big.”
Here is the recipe that is taking Logan to the White House.
Tuna Schooners:
• Quinoa
• Tuna
• Chopped Onions
• Peppers for color
• Cucumbers
• Lite Mayo
• Serve on Sweet Pepper shell
• Add Lettuce Leaf for schooner sail
Logan is feeling successful. He has already targeted the next television show he would like to appear on.
“Rachel Ray,” exclaimed Logan, “right now we are working up to her.”
But first there’s the matter of that White House appearance.
“Yeah, we’re going to the White House!” shouted Logan.
The Guleff family will head to the White House August 20; White House chefs have already re-created and approved his recipe.
Everybody has cleared security and they’re hoping Logan’s Tuna Schooners will be served at the first-ever kids state dinner.
